wooooooooo.... this blog is very back-dated le.. so i'll update it today. =)
hmm the last 2 days, sat n sun was
NTU IVP championships or u can call it IAC, institutional archery championship. only those in ITE, POLY and UNIs are able to participate and no others. so it have became the biggest F*** competition for tertiary schools... to me its also the biggest event of the year.. other den national competitions ba.. and i'm not national team n far from it... lol
ok.. as usual its held in NTU and 1st day is
ranking rounds, 2nd day is
individual knockout round where positions are based on the ranking round... also 2nd day is
team knockout and
mix team knockout...
and i'm very nervous cox quite long i didnt go for competition already and this is a major one.. somemore i had a little problem with my shooting less den 3weeks back.. so.. yup! i kan chiong super easy.
day 1, i did my best although my form is totally not smooth..
cant get the feeling right. so i tot my score is already shiity, maybe i'll be getting 3rd or 4th? we shot 3 distances, 60m, 50m and 40m. all 3 of my scores did NOT hit my expectations in terms of form. but i dono why,
all 3 i got 1st place for male category. so naturally i will have best distance award
best distance is awarded to the best archer who shot the highest score in that particular distance. but 50m, a girl from NP beat me.. so... haix. OK, left 60m and 40m. Both of these distances i was tied with one other archer respectively. 60m tied with a guy from NUS, 40m tied with NP.
i thought there will be a shoot out, maybe one arrow to determine the winner due to tie. but NO, they count the most number of high value arrows. they have more 10s. i have less, but my scores are more consistent so i got same with them anyways. SO! they got it. and i lost TWO best distance award without a fight.
DAMNIT!so i vowed, they take 2 best distance from me,
i'm taking 2 gold medals in return. although i already had one. hack!

so now day 2, IKO, TKO and MTKO. damn, i'll be
so tired after all these events. shooting from 9am all the way to 5pm. worse den my worse training.
started with IKO in the morning, i skipped the 1st round cox i got 1st yesterday and i can observe the 1st match. and my 1st match was against TP... lol tengng ask that guy to thrash me. but instead i thrashed him of 29 points... i got 98/120, he got 69/120. abit of a
bully i would say.. =x
den next was bjorn... my team mate and my bro... the score oso damn close but i won. than the next is NTU. my previous score is only 96/120 but i heard this guy is 106/120.. damn it! i super stress... and they can see that im stress.. shake alot. but i won! my score 96/120 his score 87/120.. lol he drop so much. so i proceeded into finals, gold medal match. again my
opponent is NTU and i heard his previous score is also 106/120. i super stress liao. cox the last match alot of wind and he still can hit 106 while i only 96. dang!
as usual i shoot shaking, but bj is all the way behind me.. thanks alot bro..
really appreciate it... and coach is behind me to support too! and wendy run away support other team. -_-
there is wind but i still push the limits and did my best.. with support from my bro! haha... and yes, i hit a new personal best score...
108/120. and my opponent, 92/120. lol they say i got the aura, shoot with me all shoot lousier.. hahahaha... don care la, i won! GOLD!
but i
dont freaking feel good... cox i knocked my supportive bro, bjorn out as he was facing me on the 2nd match...
ok now lunch, after lunch was next event, team knockout rounds. as usual our team can observe the 1st match cox we ranked 1st. they rank it by our own ranking score, add up 3 of our score and ranking it. so our 1st match was against NYP... it was damn close and we manage to win by a fraction of score.. like 1 or 2 points cox is a hit miss target face. means
hit yellow is considered 1 point, hit something not yellow, is
counted as MISS.
*and i'm already very tired from the IKOs*i again forgot who is next, but we won this quite easily. The last match, finals and gold silver match, we were up against
NTU... damn it! the games is 4ends per set and the 1st 3 ends we were tied! the last end is the deciding end... and we won. by again 1 or 2 points... lol damn lucky!
but i really needa thank these 2 guys,
Bjorn Tay and
Nicholas Lu. although i score the best in the team, but if don have both of them, i woudnt have done the best. cox they understood my shooting habits, how i shoot to score well, how long i need to score well. teamevent is very rushing as we needa shoot 6 arrows in 2minutes. individual is 6 arrows 4 minutes. so is a test of time. but yes, they gave me ample time to take my shots.. so as a team, we wrapped it up.
GOLD!next was the mix team knockout rounds. its grouped by the best guy and the best girl in the institute. so i was paired with yijing. she needs quite alot of time and so do i.. so we clash. and yea.. once my shooting style is compromised, i cant perform my best.. and coach says i'm tired already.. shooting since early morning to now, which is like already 4.30pm. and yes, yijing done better in that event den me...
coach changed our shooting procedure to give more time to me and compromised yijing's comfortable time...haix but we still lost. i'm
sooooo sorry yijing... super sian. i seriously did hope to get something out of this event as it is my 1st time in. and i wanted to win a gold back for jing.. she's always getting bronze she complained. so i tot this is our chance to score gold. but sian. we only got 4th. haix.
so yup... 2008 i joined, i was standard class champion. but i lost the IKO. 2009 i didnt join. 2010 i joined, i became fita 900 champion. and i won gold for IKO. i'm seriously quite happy cox i have never won anything in IKO all my 3years archery career. cox of my kan chiong mind... =)
so summary is, i have done well, but could've done even better.. lost 2 best distance and lost mix team event. i've won quite alot this time, but is nothing compared to what wendy could have won. in just a single competition.
